Running the El Capitan GM release (15A282a)

Can't find the app anywhere, Finder shows the app on my Yosemite partition but attempting to run that throws an error (not that that is unexpected).

Is there an alternative that fills the same function? Have searched here and elsewhere but found very little useful discussion about this and no definitive answers about whether it will be in the "full" release.

Have a look at /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/Screen\ Sharing.app
I'm not sure if it has always been there or if it is only there because I upgraded from Yosemite. Link it to /Applications/utilities for convenience.

It's still there, at the path in the post above mine. Works fine.
It also appears if I enter "screen sharing" in Spotlight.

It isn't in the Applications folder, and the one that shows up when I search in Spotlight is from my Yosemite install (which throws an error when I try to run it).

Something is wrong with your OS then. I'd reinstall.

I've always used Finder to start screen sharing. You can also have a list of favourites, which is also very useful.
