When doing screen sharing from my MacBook Air M2 15-inch to Mac mini M2, I get prompted to choose Standard or High performance. Both are on Sonoma and connected on a pretty good Wifi 6 setup. When I choose the latter, I get this error. If it matters, my Mac mini is connected to an old Acer 23" monitor

I get this error - Authentication failed to “etaleb's Mac mini” because the viewer and server are incompatible.

How do I troubleshoot? Also, is high performance better than standard with latency?

Can anybody help? I was actually able to connect this morning and the resolution was better with zero latency and was really nice experience but now again, I'm getting that error and confused why this only intermittent tingly works

Do you need high performance? I had been screen sharing with my trash can pro that's on Monterey latest to my Intel MBP 2018/Sonoma no problem despite the beachballing.

I would say just get it to work for now...

Well, high-performance is certainly lower latency, and it makes me feel like I am on the Physical computer itself. What do you think is preventing it from working giving all the versions are the same and it’s all newer machines on a very good Wi-Fi net work

I usually pick the lower simply to load the screen fast as most of the time I am not doing intense graphics. In my case, the trash can is wired to the network while the MBP is on WIFI (Extreme AC).
