Screen Sharing is broken

Well, it was always problematic before 10.8.3, now it doesn't even pretend to work.

No refreshes. At all.

I have to move my mouse over the portions of the screen that would be refreshed (iStat, Drobo Dashboard, etc) to see just that tiny sliver.

Setting 'full screen' or 'full quality' does not change the issue.

FYI- The mini in question is a 2012 i7 Server with 10.8.3 installed connected to my iMac via Thunderbolt cable (F2 for Target Display Mode).

Works fine for me. I access my 2012 i7 Mac Mini running 10.8.3 from my Macbook Air running 10.8.3 all the time with no issues. My Mac Mini is connected via Ethernet and my MBA is wifi (obviously) using Airport Extreme Base stations for my network. My Mini is connected directly to two monitors via DVI so not using Target display mode.

Just got off the phone with Apple Tier 2.

Not only do they know Screen Sharing is broken, but they also know about the kernel panic I have had when there is another Thunderbolt device between the Mac and the Monitor and screen sharing is active.

The 'no refresh' issue happens on the iMac AND my MacBook Pro.

It does NOT happen from Windows7 using VNC.

I assume it all stems from using target display mode on your iMac then rather than a separate monitor.

Nope. If the Mini is rebooted with no monitor attached, the same issue occurs.

Portions of the screen are blacked out, portions don't update. It make screen sharing unusable.

And, if you don't connect a Mini to a monitor at boot, the video subsystem only loads a standard VGA screen. So when you do connect from a client (iMac/MacBook Pro) you only get a 640x480 window.

Well I think there's the heart of it. Clearly you aren't getting GPU accellerated screen sharing then when connected via Target display mode.
