I'm not sure where to post this but since it has to do with a mac mini I figured I'd post it here.

I have a late 2009 mac mini running headless - figuring I can just share the screen to one of my other macs via the native screen sharing app.

That said is there any way (or any other screen sharing app) that will set the screen size on the remote (the one viewing the mini) to it's screen size?

For example on my 13" macbook pro the screen sharing app either scales the mini's screen so everything is to small to read....or if I turn that off it's way to big for the 13" and I have to scroll all over to see things.

Make sense? Is it possible to just have the mini's screen be the same size as the 13"

Both machines are running OS X 10.8.

I am running 10.9.1 so I believe your screen sharing app is slightly different, but you should be able to go to 'Preferences' under 'Screen Sharing' in your menu bar when the Screen Sharing app is on/active. There are options for scaling etc.

Also you could also try changing the resolution on your headless mini to the same on your MacBook.

^^Thanks

But the only options is 10.8 for scaling is basically for it to scale or not...nothing more than that.

I also tried changing the resolution on the mini itself...that kind of worked but only gave me a few options - none of which were exact matches to the macbook pro's resolution.

Hold the option key and click on the Scaled button. That should offer more resolution choices.
