Anyone seen a mirror view with a mirror behind you? The view is of a constant reflection of your reflection. You are reproduced over and over again, as you fade into minimalism.

Well, it just happened to me.

I can't, for the life of me, screen share my IMP, but it IS seen, and shared, from my mac Mini. So I share the screen of my Mini, and share the IMP screen, and it's still sharing the Mini screen, and so it's a comical version of WTF as I try to close the sharing screen, on the IMP, of the Mini desktop. No matter what I click on, the connection from the MBP to the Mini ends. I can't end the screen share to the Mini from the IMP from my MBP sharing the screen of the Mini without killing the share from the MBP to the Mini. Weird...

Does reality exist? Apparently not? Who knows. It was a nice reflection of a reflection, of a reflection, etc, ad infinitum...

Is there a 'fix' for the next time this happens?

I was trying to get to a document that has a password that I need. I didn't even try to get it, thinking that would be difficult given the 3-D chess going on at the moment.

Have you been staring into the Matrix again, Pinky?

No, but it could be a Palintir, from the Dark Lord himself.

I was surprised at this issue. Like when I tried to enter a friend's birthday (leap year) into the Palm Pilot, and crashing the thing. Oops... And when it synced to the PeeCee, it crashed it too!

Lost my entire calendar.

I would reboot, enable screen share again, and see if the view into Pinkyverse opens up again.

If life were fair, and just, it would be advised to go to bed. What in life is fair and just...

The fight continues...

But reboot which one? The idea was I wouldn't have to get off my chair to wet nurse this whole process. I could have just gotten up and gotten the password document myself, and printed it in a horrific variety of different formats and dodged this whole mess. (I still am waiting for the basement to go critical. Could be any day now) The Meatrix Is Real...

*sigh*

I would reboot the IMP and see if that resolves the madness. If it doesn't, you will need to get out of your chair and wage war in hand to hand combat.

I am finding this humorous for some reason.

I would hope that whatever world controls ours, has a sense of humor.

OMG!!! They know where my Pencil is, and are just taunting me!!! And the missing socks? This is rapidly becoming not funny....

But hysterical... I refuse to give in... It's Saturday night. Cheers!!!

I can't reboot the IMP from the screen share from the MBP to the Mini! I keep getting the pointer reproducing from the view of the MBP, and the pointer seems to go down the spiral, and yet nothing is clickable. All I can di is stop the original share to the Mini. I can't reboot the IMP from the Mini screen share. It keeps acting like I clicked on the menu of this MBP. I mean, weird... Wow... Totally interesting, but totally useless...

This seems to be a major flaw in screen sharing. I mean, why shouldn't I be able to share the screen of a system sharing the screen of the system I am sharing a screen of. Or is this pushing some Quantum Physics law?

The Heisenberg Uncertainly Principle, on macOS?

If that is the case, warn the wife you are about to reboot the entire Pinkyverse house and see what happens.

I believe what you are running into is actually a feature differentiation between regular old Screen Sharing and what is considered an Apple Remote Desktop feature. There are explicit options in ARD for how it behaves when attempting to do this kind of thing.

I didn't realize I had shared the screen from the IMP to the Mini, so when I logged in, I wondered what level of hell I had descended to. It was an interesting look, and apparently Screen Sharing was really having issues with it as it happened. I wonder if there was another system in that loop, if it would warp all three.

I still can't understand why the IMP is not seen by my MBP, but both are seen by my Mini, and I believe that the MBP is seen by the IMP. They are all in the same subnet, and the same version of Big Sur. As far as I know, they are all setup to allow for sharing in the same way. I must be missing something somewhere. But it's a new day! YIPPEE!!!
