Screen stop bright? Restore?

So i felt down a little bit of water on the front of my screen and after 1 hr the screen stop of bright and didn't back... i try turned off and dry for a while and didn't work so i'm think about upgrade and/or restore my iphone


What do you guys suggest me? if is possible some specific tutorial?

My iPhone is a 3GS firmware 3.0 with baseband 04.26.08 jailbroken by purplera1n

Are you saying water got inside your iPhone and now the screen won't come on or the phone won't turn on ?

No software fix for this.

Could you explain what you mean by "felt down a little water on my screen"?

By "stop of bright" do you mean that your backlight doesn't come on, or that that your screen doesn't show any images at all? Either way, it sounds like a physical problem caused by water damage, not a software problem.

No guys i don't how to explain totally better but what happen was this.. i went to snowboard and i try to record my first moves on it so for sure i fall down on the snow and it wet my iphone sometimes and when i arrived at home the screen stop bright, it means the iphone work perfect but the screen dont bright such as the bright control stay on 0 but is not

did you got guys? the iphone is working totally perfect just the screen don't bright i have to put in some light to see with difficult what is happening...


GOT IT? i try to dry and other things and it still dont work =/

Still sounds like water damage to me. You could try restoring, but if that doesn't work you need to talk to Apple about it.

I have my iPhone 3GS for 6 months by Rogers on Canada but i unlocked and jailbraked on the version i got it the 3.0 and the baseband i put above by the purplera1in.. to be honest i follow the tutorials of iclarified.com

Anyway

What do you guys suggest me?

I never did restore before on my 3GS and i update my itunes to 9.0.2 yesterday and it doesn't work with my version what i do to RESTORE or UPDATE to 3.1.2? which is better? i didn't find any tutorial to restore to my own version or to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1.2. Also i heard about if you upgrade u can have like a tether jailbroken that if your battery finish u have to do it again... so i don't like that way whether is the only one.

Did you go into settings and check that the brightness is turned up ?

Does sound like you got water inside the phone so it is probably damaged and will need repair.

Hint: Snow is liquid. Phones and liquid don't play well together. Keep them away from each other, especially since you don't know how to snowboard.

You couldn't have tried very hard. The 2nd sticky at the top of this forum is how to restore your phone.

i already read this post but i think you didn't understand

i have 3.0 FW version and apple doesn't support anymore this FW so im a little bit afraid and you know what i update my itunes to the last version to begin the restore process and right know it shows me a error message when I plug my phone so the question

Which iTunes version i have to get to do it? and where to download the right FW version to do the restore process? and i guess rogers doesn't have the activation process such as AT&T?
