Hello, I find typing experience on my 15 pro max horrible. My system version is 17.0.2. When typing, some letters are not registered, I need to press twice or press harder, like the letter s and d.

And sometimes I click an app icon, it doesn’t respond either, until I press again.

This happens more often on the bottom of the screen.

Anyone experiencing the same issue? That kinds drives me crazy.

Nope, mine has been good, though I feel like the touch target on the Portrait Lighting in landscape mode is a bit grabby.

I switched to this phone from iPhone 15 Plus. Since I started using the 15 Pro Max, I have been experiencing touch problems, especially on the lock screen and notification center.
I am someone who uses both hands on the keyboard and types quickly. I have difficulty typing on the keyboard when replying to a message on the lock screen. Even though I press the "i" and "backspace" keys, the screen does not detect it. This problem also occurs when using the phone normally. For example, when I type on the keyboard in the Feedback application, it does not detect my touches, it only detects hard pressure. I've never experienced this with the 15 Plus.

Note: It doesn't matter if there is a screen protector or not. Even though I reinstalled the software, nothing changed. There was the same problem in iOS 17.1, and the current 17.2 beta versions also have the same problem.

Anyone else having this problem?

Return it under warranty. It’s defective.
If there was a hardware problem, I would return it, but this is a software problem.
There are a lot of people experiencing this problem, and those who say they don't have a problem are probably the ones who haven't noticed it yet.

Not seeing this on my base regular 15 🫤 if anything it’s almost too sensitive sometimes but that’s better than the alternative I suppose

Not sure 4 reddit threads with maybe ~10 comments total is enough to justify saying that "those who say they don't have a problem are probably the ones who haven't noticed it yet".

Apple sells many millions of iPhones. If everyone's screen was bugged in a way that made it "impossible to type a text longer than a few words" like one of those threads says, it would be all over. People wouldn't just not notice that.

Nonetheless I hope this is a simple software fix for Apple.

I will say, on my iPhone X I have noticed similar things at times. Sometimes my backspace key will simply stop working for like 5 seconds. Every other key works except that one.

The same for me, but there are sometimes days when everything runs smoothly. My 14 Pro responds much better and is more sensitive, but I use an armored glass. But I don't think it's the hardware!

I have the same problem, I am currently on iOS 17.2.1, my phone was purchased just in December, iOS 17.1 came pre-installed, so it is a recently manufactured phone iPhone 15 Pro Max 512 GB, I bought it when renewing my plan with Telcel in Mexico My wife has exactly the same problem as me.
