Skipped 17.5, went right to 17.5.1. Noticed my screen is very dim. Compared to my wife’s and kids iPhones my 15 pro max is half as dim with all settings the same. Rebooted several times, no difference. Anyone else notice this after the update?

Try this;

Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce White Point (switch it off).

If that fails, try toggling auto brightness off and on (it's in the same menu).

Did your iPhone get unusually hot during the update? If so, dimming could have been caused by its overheating and should settle by itself once the iPhone has cooled down.
