I have a problem, which seems to have got worse recently (I just updated to El Capitan). Basically if the screen goes to sleep due to energy saving, which I try to start work again it flashes to life for a second or two, then turns off and won't come back. The monitor says it's not receiving a signal and then goes to sleep, if I turn it back on and select the input source etc, it still claims there is no signal.
I'm running the Monitor through the Display Port, if I remove the Thunderbolt cable from the back of the Mac and plug it into a new port then the monitor comes back, but this is obviously a work around that I'd rather not continue.
If the monitor is not being picked up and I press Ctrl + Eject, then Return, to shutdown then the monitor sparks back to life just in time to turn off as the Mac ***** down.
The issue seems worse since the OS update as I had the same issue with Mavericks, but the monitor would come back on after about 5 seconds, since El Capitan it doesn't.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
