Hi,

Quick question, pulled M1 14" macpro out of ruck sack, no liquid spill and not damaged, and liquid <1ml leaking bottom right side of screen from under rubber seal. oily/greasy liquid and I have seen this leak has impacted the screen. the dark bottom right is where the liquid was leaking from the screen

Looks like liquid damage to me. Get it into an Apple store or service center; be sitting down when they quote the cost.

Going to get it repaired and I am asking for the old parts back as I own them and under consumer rights they are mine

I'd be more concerned about getting SOMETHING ELSE in which to carry it around...

Already have and sorted that. I don’t see why Apple should re-purpose old parts as even the outer shell has scrap value. Why should consumers throw away money and line apples profits more thinking it’s waste? It’s not waste it has monetary value to Apple when consumers give them old parts for free

Especially when I have someone interested in the Lid for £200 that reduces the cost of repair by 32.8%

Possibly - but there may be a surcharge if they’re returned to you, as Apple’s pricing is based on “exchange” for parts they can refurbish. See section 1.3 of the repair T&C.

That doesn’t fit in with consumer rights and it has been raised with trading standards and consumer rights
