I don't want my screensaver to come on so it is set to never however it will still come on from time to time. I do have the monitor go to sleep after an hour so it is hard for me to determine when the screensaver is turning on.

I remotely login to the computer (using Teamviewer) and often the screen is stuck on the screensaver which is how I know it is turning on. If I'm physically at the computer and wake it up the screensaver never shows.

Any thoughts on how to fix it? Thanks!

Seen this many times....no idea, honestly. Sleep and screen saver have been finicky and weird for many years.

I have seen labs full of Macs that would be set to sleep display/screensaver off, only to have all them show the screen saver for about 15 min and then sleep the display...

Could be an issue between a global setting preference, individual user preferences, and perhaps any other system settings such as profiles (at least on managed machines).

And yes, I see a hint of screen saver when remoting into machines with the screen sleeping while using ARD. Seems really common, but can't say what the cause is, much less how to resolve.

Perhaps it is one of those things like we used to say back in the day on the nasty ol' PCs:

Windows 98. It just does that.
