I have a problem with images scattered between Downloads, Pictures, Desktop on my iMac and my external SSD drive.

On my SSD drive I've set up Year folders. I'd like to get every image on my iMac onto that SSD drive and sorted by Year.

I'm not versed in scripting and that's why I would appreciate help.
Thank you!

I wouldn't think a script would be the best way to do this. You could just use Find in the Finder and choose Kind = Image, maybe add a creation date and user ID to the filters, then drag them all into the year folders. A script might move things and break things.

I agree.
You could search by 'image' as said or by file extension and then sort by date afterwards.
Then create an album or folder for each year and drag each year's worth into the appropriate folder.
Or however you want but Finder and something basic like that is definitely the easiest, and the best workflow is to decide what you want to do with it first and set up all the necessary folders before you start.
