macOS Script to Log in to Messages app in mavericks

Hello,

I am new with AppleScript and osascript. I want to log in Messages app from terminal. I already asked this question in Apple stackExchange (http://apple.stackexchange.com/ques...n-messages-app-in-mac-mavericks-from-terminal), but not find correct solution. How can I put Apple ID and password to log in by the script ?

Hi,

The answer at StackExchange seems to be correct. I assume your problem is that you don't see anywhere to enter the username and password.

If you look at the scripting dictionary for Messages you'll see that it tells you that the username and password need to be available in your Keychain for automatic login to work:

log in (verb)Log in to the specified service, or all services if none is specified. If the account password is not in the keychain the user will be prompted to enter one. (from Messages Suite)

So, in short, you can't supply the username and password in your script, but you can make them available in keychain.

Thank you for replying. How to make them available in keychain ?

I'm not an expert with Messages, but I guess you'll need to log in to the accounts you want to access manually and make sure you save username and password if/when asked to.

If you can access them in Messages without being prompted to login then you should be in business.
