Hello. I do NOT like how my iPhone saves phots and videos) with an UPPER-CASE file extension.

Is there some *safe* way that I can renme all the files in a directory so that the extensions are lower-case, and even better, so the entire file-name is lower-case.

For example from "IMG_3022.JPG" to "img_3022.jpg"

When I am uploading photos/vidoes to my Linux webserver, the file extension case is breaking my code and to have to manually rename thousands of pictures isn't practical.

Thanks.

A quick way to do this is to just use the finder to do this. Assuming all the images are in a single folder you can select all and then right click to bring up the options. Select the 'rename items' and then you can select the extension to change case. Then do the same again for the prefix. Couple of screen grabs attached.

I use this all the time. Hope that helps
