After I updated to macOS 12.1 I notice that in some apps when you start inertial scroll and then stop the scroll by putting your fingers on the trackpad, there's a sudden jump that moves the content back. I mean, there's no smooth scrolling but the page jumps slightly back on stopping it from the inertial scroll. It's very annoying and unnatural. I'm on a MacBook Air M1.

And BTW, I'm getting really pissed at macOS 12, there are so many little bugs here and there, slow performance, etc. This is not the Apple I know. What is going on? I think they should stop adding new features and focus on making the OS very stable and bug-free.

I have the same issue in many app, for example in Sublime Text is it very noticeable. Also it in PyCharm and other JetBrains products. It is actually disturbs from normal work.

I'm very sad, I expected 12.1 will fix a bunch of minor bugs, but instead got more annoying one.

I'm not expecting next update will fix it. Any suggestions how to fix it?

I tried to create a brand new user in my system, I had a hope that this is some user-specific configs issue, but this does not work.

Oh man.... I've been experiencing this exact issue as well, on my 14" 2021 MBP, both in 12.1 final, as well as the first beta of 12.2 that was recently released.

It's ridiculously annoying and in many cases gets so frustrating that it actively takes away from my productivity as well! Monterey has been... so disappointing and buggy from the very first beta, and it's bizarre how many unique and highly-specific trackpad-related issues there have been. Here's hoping it gets fixed before the final release of 12.2...

I'm still having this issue on 12.2.1 with a 2019 MacBook Air. I reported the bug months ago. Is anyone else still experiencing this issue or found a fix for it?

There is no fix for that issue in global meaning. But mozila firefox seems to fix jittery scrolling in their latest update. So i'd recommend you to try that out

My bad here. My issue is with horizontal scrolling in column view in Finder being broken. I was looking through threads and now see I posted to the wrong one. 😬
