i have seen many lengthy instructions for upgrading to an ssd, but i have a question.

if i am buying a SSD kit that comes with a usb enclosure for my original drive, can't I just install the SSD into the mac mini top slot, with nothing on it and boot up and recover the OSX from the new external usb drive (enclosing the original OEM internal disk)??

(PS - can a mod edit my subject line - meant SSD of course)
