Hi,

I have a sdtv from Toshiba. Apple Tv says they need a 16:9 tv but my tv has settings to watch things is 16:9. For instance I watch over the air hd. The tv also has component connectors. Will this work with Apple TV?

If your TV can accept 16:9 content (or has a 16:9 mode) and has component inputs, it will most likely work. However, the menu system was clearly built for a 16:9 frame and text will be harder to read. Also, 4:3 content will not scale to 4:3. It will fit within a 16:9 frame, leaving black bars on the left, right, top and bottom of the screen.

I have a Sony WEGA CRT that supports my :apple:TV using its 16:9 mode (which was implemented primarily for watching anamorphic content).
