I posted this in the wrong forum section.
My iPhones camera app portrait mode is not optically stabilised (the viewfinder is much shakier than the regular Photo and Video modes - resulting in blurry photos). The optical image stabilisation does work in Photo and Video modes so this isn’t a hardware issue. Also in any third party camera app I installed (I tried DSLR camera and Adobe lightroom), the viewfinder is also as shaky as the portrait mode (no optical image stabilisation). You can see it in action here: I thought this could’ve been an iOS update quirk but I’ve fully restored my iPhone to the latest iOS version (iOS 14.4) and set it up as a new device, but the issue is still there. Honestly I don’t know what to do, I’m even questioning if the optical image stabilisation was there in the portrait mode in the first place (I guess only iPhone SE (2020) owners will be able to answer this, and I hope they will), but judging by how no third party camera app has optical image stabilisation (despite it being enabled in app), I think this is an iOS bug. I’ve reported this issue on the Apple bug reporting with all the logs required, so I hope someone will look into this. There’s literally no information about this online so I’m trying to reach out for help here.
