Pretty sweet. Got a space grey 32 to complement my gold 64 I’ve had for over two years.

$80 something out the door no contract nada. They’re clearing Em out

Yeah, $49 is a pretty insane price for a brand new iPhone

I took advantage of this offer to have an backup small phone for when I can’t be bothered to carry my 8+ with me (say going on a hike).

Walking out the door it was actually $49 + $35 for the 1st month of service + Tax. The $30/mo price for their cheapest plan is after you log into the PayGoOnline website that has your prepaid account info and set up autopay.

I plan on using AT&T Prepaid service for 6-months in order to get my SE unlocked. After that I’ll finally use my 1-year prepaid plan on RedPockets (5gb LTE + unlim talk / text via AT&T’s network) that I purchased on eBay for $205 with a coupon.

Weird mine was $49.99+$30 + tax for sim with unlimited voice and text and I logged into the prepaid site and auto renew was already turned off

Maybe the deal changed at some point too bc it used to be $99.99 and the prepaid plan until past couple weeks. Even that link that describes the deal is just 49.99+30

But probably a ymmv thing since it’s at “participating” stores

If it was a 6s for $99, I would be racing to the store. As it is, I don’t think I would even be interested in a free se. I just see no way I’d ever be able to use something so old and tiny. This isn’t meant to rile anyone up. $80 out the door for a new iPhone is amazing, I just would never ever choose it over my 8+ or even a 6s/7 sized phone.

Ah see I’m the opposite

Se or x/plus for me.

4.7 is jack of all trades size wise master of none

The one handed ness of Se with 6s internals does it for me big
Time In its own way

I’m trying to convince myself to go grab one, but it’s so small it’s unusable for me..

There was a time it was the biggest and only size iPhone out there :p

It’s also like a nostalgic throwback with some power

I also find 6/6s designs so atrocious prototype-y looking next to 7/8 and didn’t age well in the same way 5/5s/Se is timeless and possibly
The last iPhone design jobs fully signed off on

I have an 8+ that I love but it’s nice to have a small phone option to switch to depending on what I’m doing. AT&T service just makes it so easy to instantly switch devices via SIM card. If I’m going to the gym, on a hike, or other random stuff where I don’t plan on using a big screened / two-handed device (even one as nice as the 8+) the SE is great.

I can see how some people might need a bigger screened smaller device like the 6s. For me though the SE, which has mostly the same internals as the 6s, is perfect as a backup :)

I’m thinking about getting one for my little sister. We already have a line on our plan tho. So I guess I could just go into At&t buy the phone for $80 take the prepaid sim out and put her current post paid sim in and it will work?

Doesn’t even come w prepaid sim in it it’s something you’d have to put in

Ok I just thought it did since you had to buy the $30 prepaid card with it. So basically I can buy it all for $80 and use it with her current post paid sim then right? I just ask cause I know some of these carriers are shady on stuff like this. Like Verizon won’t let you use there prepaid on the post paid til you use it for a full 30 days on prepaid

Yep good to go

I’d probably put the prepaid sim in and having service running for a few minutes before post paid just to show on a system somewhere you did activate prepaid

But otherwise zero problems

Darn, this is in-store only. Probably to discourage the people like me who would order it, only to get it unlocked for T-Mobile.

SE is a great little phone for
1. Backup
2. Spotify/streaming/gps

It’s a no brainer for $49 plus $30

Except, for me, I have my X on my primary account, a 7+ on a backup account, and a Moto G5 Plus not currently in service. If something happened to my X, the 7+ would be promoted until the new models came out. If something happened to the 7+ in short term, then I would have to make a decision.

It’s gotta be used for 6 months on Atnt to unlock it I think.
Since this is prepaid, would I be good with only getting it with the initial $30 prepaid credit, and riding that out for the next 6 months until I can get it unlocked? Or will I need to spend $30 monthly?

I believe the cheapest plan they offer is $30 per month prepaid, regardless of your use. It doesn’t look like you can just sit on it for 6 months, but I’ve never used atnt or prepaid.

Also for people asking about unlock-

Using r-sim12 and ICCID trick, you can get SE factory unlocked

...dont plan on needing it but if I do good to have for peace of mind

only thing is if you restore you have to re-do the process, otherwise if you JB you carry over contents from a folder and good to go. OTA updates shouldn't affect unlock status.

this might sweeten the deal for some of you non-AT&T/non-commital/international people
