I don't know if this thread is in the right location so mods feel free to move it.

I was one of the people who invested heavily in the 3TB Seagate drive when it came out and of the four that I bought only one is functioning. Although since the others failed early on I've taken it out of daily use. Seems like finally enough people have complained and now Seagate is being hit with a class action lawsuit. I just want my money back so I can cover the cost of the WD Red drives that replaced them. Have any of you who bought the 3TB drives had the same issues as me with failures around the 9-10 month age?

Seagate has been junk for years I lost half dozen of the eight I had in the 1.5tb 7200.11 fiasco with only one failing in warranty period. That said I have 160gb and 400gb that has made the click of death since I got it work fine to this day. Sad to see what was once such a reliable manufacturer go down hill...

People forget that most HD manufacturers have been through this. Whatever your favorite brand, it's probably been right where Seagate is now. Also, the Seagate bad hyperbole is really thick. They've had some problematic models, others just fine recently.

I am sure that Seagate has manufactured and perhaps manufactures some great drives. I have not had the pleasure of owning any of them. :)
