hey all, I've had a very strange issue with system settings on iOS 8 iPhone 6 verizon model.

When I go into system settings the search bar shows, then disappears, and the top icon for airplane mode scrolls up. I was told this is a known bug from the betas. I was wondering if anyone had a fix for this other then restoring the phone. Other then this lisle glitch everything seems to work fine, and the search bar can be pulled back down if i scroll the window to the top, so it's not totally gone, the settings just does this little glitch when opened. I tried a hard reset of the phone and i used iPhone cleaner to make sure to clean caches etc, and this hasn't fixed it. Suggestions would be welcome thanks :)

It's simply a bug that Apple hasn't fixed yet.
Ok, just like to clarify . So i would be wasting time doing a clean install then, in this case. It doesn't affect the os performance, it's just annoying.

I beta tested EL Capitan and now have the GMC, decided to install the latest pB of iOS 9 so i could test it before it was released, since i only have one phone i need it to be stable so i figured installing the PB one week away from release wouldn't cause too much trouble at this point. Anyway upgraded to the final release today and everything as a whole seems good.

There was one other question i wanted to add to the original post. In the phone app under recents, why doesn't the edit button automatically show up unless i switch tabs? is this a bug too? or is this normal.

Thanks

Yeah, it's a bug, so no amount of reinstalling would get it fixed.

Haven't noticed what you mentioned in the Phone app before, but just saw it there myself. Sounds like a bug as well, unless for some design/usability type of reason they want to hide the edit button initially until you switch tabs.

Well hopefully apple developers read these forums too, maybe this could be a way to report bugs to apple. Anyway thanks again :)

I believe they know about those by now, but they are not likely a priority given their trivial nature and that there are likely bigger bugs that they have been dealing with. As always bugs can also be filed at http://bugreport.apple.com by anyone (basically anyone can be a free developer for the purposes of filing bugs).

That's true, At least nothing is crashing or going wonky on me, and I have a stable phone. That's the import5ant thing :)
