Not having found anything in the search.....there was an old Mac mystery game that began with a man waking up, looking in the mirror and not recognizing himself as he'd lost his memory. If I recall, it seemed to be set during the 40s or 50s. Does anybody recall this, or know if it was re-tooled into a newer version?

Sidenote: am a Windows person seriously considering moving back to a Mac after many years with viruses, Norton, Trend, etc.......just can't figure out which one!

Thanks!

If you mean which Mac, the 'buying tips and advice' section of the forum may be very useful if you're having trouble deciding.

As to the game, sorry I have no idea, I am way too young probably.

Deja Vu?

That sounds like Deja Vu - google Deja Vu Macintosh and follow the link to Wikipedia to see if that's the game you're thinking about.

Sorry to intrude but I have a similar question about a very very old and obscure point and click game. Here are the details I kind of remember:

  • It was very much like Myst, 1st person view.
  • Black and White, since it is an old mac game.
  • I don't remember having sounds or music at all.
  • I believe the game began in a forest, at night. I think the trees were poorly lit.
  • I guess the icon of the game was a crescent moon, but that may be totally wrong.

I know it's hard to figure this one out but I have searched everywhere, but no luck.

Two games off the top of my head you might want to check out came from Cyan, incidentally the same company that later made Myst:

Cosmic Osmo
The Manhole

Boy oh boy I'm almost in tears right now. I found the game and a whole lot of memories came rushing with it. It's the black and white version of Spelunx, guys. The Cyan lead was right on the money. Thank you very, very much. You just made an old gamer happy.
