Not seeing any mention of this. Search is now accesses by swiping left, iirc that hasn't been the case since iOS 7. I wonder if the current iOS8 swipe down on any icon screen still works?
 
I prefer the IOS8 swipe down because I could access it fast.

I not understanding what swipe to left means, would you physically swipe to the right to reveal the left?
 
Based on various discussions of this in the general iOS 9 changes threads, it seems that both are there: you can swipe down and get the search or when on the home screen you can swipe right to reveal the page on the left with additional items already identified as being helpful depending on when and where you are.

Yes this is what I meant but didn't accurately describe.

Personally I'm happy to see this gesture back.
