I entered "reader" in ios 9 system-wide spotlight search.

iOS 9 search recommends....

Pornographic web-sites!

I hope Apple fixes their profanity filter before launch, or this will be a PR disaster. :-O

[This happens on a UK phone and is a UK site (the web-sites use a UK "term" possibly not used in the US...)]

Typing in "reader" in my spotlight search didn't give me any X-rated results. All three web results it showed were related to Readers Digest. Two English and third was French (because I'm in Canada)

Seems like a UK thing. I would use the feedback app and report it to them along with a screen shot of the search results.

Reported.

Even if this is just in the uk it would be picked up by the press if it makes it into the finished product...

This bug appears to have been fixed. Searching for "reader" now returns no website suggestions at all.

Great to see Apple acting on my feedback. Hope the fix was more than adding "reader" to a banned word list!

I doubt they would have done anything so quick, it's only barely been two days since you posted this thread and sent feedback to Apple, and it's a weekend...a holiday weekend at that.

I also doubt any changes can be made without an update to install.

What you're seeing is probably the odd time spotlight doesn't get searches correctly and see nothing. Try a reboot (home + power buttons)

Verified on multiple devices. And you really think Apple aren't working on iOS this weekend?! The release is in 2 days (probably!).

Some people might well be working (while plenty aren't given that it's a holiday weekend that people usually use to do something), but this isn't really the kind of thing they would be working on, and that's even going on a long stretch assumption that this even has anything to do with iOS and wasn't something related to search engine suggestions or some server glitch somewhere or something like that.

If you know so much about Apple's work scheduling aren't you violating your NDA?!

Of course they wouldn't fix an easy-to-fix bug which would generate headlines all over press and social media....

What has happened to this forum? So much pointless negativity. Used to be a great place...

More like practical realism. You have no proof that Apple did anything about it, and while you are certainly welcome to make that assumption and have the opinion that that might have happened, it equally means others can have different assumptions and opinions about it.

As for negativity, forums not being as great as they once were, and all that, seems like the only ones that cry foul about it all are the very ones who are participating in it all--so fat in this thread you've been making posts directly putting down the opinions of others, not the other way around.

I think someone has been looking at some naughty websites in the past, and this has pulled out searches based on his browsing history...

I'm in the UK and when I search reader, it brings me results for PDF readers. I was looking at Adobe's website for PDF reader last week.

they did say it has now stopped though.

as for whether apple fixed it, i would say it's not at all impossible. a lot of my feedback submissions have their dates updated to dates that feel this weekend just gone, suggesting work was being done then. i'm guessing there is/was a final push for GM. don't know about american holidays though and how unlikely it would be for the world's top software engineers to work on a weekend...

Could have cleared his history, or not been on any naughty sites for a few days/weeks so then it is pulling newer, more relevant info.
