After updating to iOS 18 today, I can no longer search for text within my text messages. If I search for a word I know was mentioned in a message recently, nothing comes up. I can only search for names of people. Is everyone else experiencing this? Is there any way to get this functionality back? There are things I need to find in my text messages that I can’t without being able to search them.

I just updated to iOS17.7 and had this same issue as nothing would come up during a search.
I seemed to remember frozen previous versions that you had to wait for the phone search to re-index while off-screen.
Sure enough, more and more items are showing up in search as the day goes by.
