Ok, so I'm new to Apple and am getting my 1st apple product, (pre-ordered iphone 4). I go to the apps store to shop for a particular language translator app that I saw reviewed on some tech site a while back. I forgot the name so I tried using their search to get a list of all their language apps and it only comes up with one result, and it's not the one I'm looking for.

Is there some special trick to getting a list of all available apps for whatever you want? I tried searching for some other things and still get only a limited number of results. How can I get a look at ALL the apps for a particular function? It's as if they don't want you browsing their store but to settle for whatever their limited search engine offers.

I finally tried the same search on Google and instantly found the app I was looking for (it's called Converse) along with dozens of other translator apps. I suppose using a Google setup in Apple's store is out of the question for Steve. lol

Unfortunately, sometimes Google offers better results. I am often frustrated when looking for things in the app store. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with the redundancy of similar apps as well.

Yeah, I have to wonder if Steve uses Google to find apps in his own store o_O

Note really, but it's interesting. Kind of expensive though considering each one only has 2 languages, ($24.99 for English-Spanish).

I found the one I was looking for, called Converse. It has two keyboards and you put it between two people and each person types what they want to say and it's displayed to the other one. Plus it's only about $5. Of course, you have to be careful putting half of your expensive iphone into someone else's hands. She had better be hot, lol.

Definitely. :D

Sorry i just searched translator app and thats what came up. I didnt see that it was 25 bucks:eek:. I know its not that much but i think it is for an app.

Yeah, even worse the $25 covers ONLY 2 languages, not all the them
