Is there a way to search through ALL your messages, not just the loaded ones?

For example, I know someone sent me an address a month ago, but I don't want to scroll through all the messages to find it...so I want to search for it since I remember the street name.

How do I do this?

AFAIK, the only real method is to backup your old messages and then go through them on your Mac/PC. The database is a simple SQL one, so you can easily navigate through it.

Technically, you should be able to do it via your phone, but that has been broken for most users for a couple iOS releases now (since like iOS7).

What do you mean most users?

This is kind of disappointing...I came from a Note 4 and using the Textra app, I could do a search and it would search the ALL of my text messages. Extremely useful feature.

Doesn't it search all messages now, as it always has?

Edit: Apparently it doesn't seem to, but as I recall it used to. Perhaps a bug?

I would like to know if its a bug or not. This is almost stupid. Why would one need the search feature if I can only search through text messages I can easily scroll up and look through?

The whole point would be to search for texts way in the past...

I don't know if it's a bug or what, but it seems to be an issue that's been around for a year or two.
