Second partition on Fusion drive

If I create a second partition on a Mac mini with Fusion drive, will I get '2 Fusion drives' or 'one Fusion drive and a HHD drive'?

Is this operation reversible? If so, how?

You can only partition he HDD part of the Fusion. So I am guessing you will need to partition the HDD first, then fuse the SSD to one of the partitions. The result is a fusion drive made up of the SSD and one HDD partition and a second partition on the HDD.

I could be wrong but I think you will need to do that though the command line through disk util and CoreStorage. I am not sure if the disk util GUI allows you to build a fusion from a partition. It might want the whole HDD.

It would be reversible. Although you would need to rebuild the fusion from scratch to fully utilise both drives again.

It's a while since I did it but think disc utility can add 1 partition to an existing fusion drive.

As noted above this partition exists only on the mechanical drive.

After looking at my Fusion in Disk Utility in OS X you could be right. It looks like you can partition the HDD in a Fusion in the GUI even after the Fusion is built. I'm not willing to try it but it suggest I can and shows the size of the the drive I am partitioning as 1TB which is obviously my HDD. My Fusion is a 240GB SSD and HGST 7200 1TB.

I would be interested to know (if anyone tries it) if the GUI works.
