(Asking this for my brother but am a little concerned as I have the same model iPad, including storage capacity and color, and wonder if I should be concerned about a similar possibility for mine in the future)

Upgraded iPad (6th generation) to iPadOS 14 and noticed a vertical in portrait, horizontal in landscape quadrant was slightly different from the remainder of the display -- possibly coincidence.

Troubleshooting steps thus far:
• soft and hard reboot/restart
• brightness change
• restore (not from backup)
• remote diagnostic with Apple Support
-- “Well I would like to tell you that the device is fine, there isn’t any hardware issue with the device.”

So, is this a strange software bug/fault/glitch or a hardware problem diagnostic didn't recognize? Anyone aware of a similar/identical issue?

Thanks.

If it’s present after a reinstall of iOS without applying a backup (restoring) it will probably be a hardware problem.
