Where in the Disk Utility in the CMD+R restore section have they moved the secure erase option too. I'm trying to secure erase the fusion drive in my iMac before I sell it but I don't get any prompts for a secure erase.

Is it running FileVault? I haven't tried to do a secure erase via disk utility but I do know that secure empty trash is disabled if FileVault is on as it is unnecessary.

I had it on but I turned it off? Should I try downloading something to format the recovery partition and try again? I'm guessing that might have saved something to do with Filevault.

Umm, if you have your file vault on, then all you need is formatting the entire disk and that's it.
No need to take care about recovery partition.
