Security - facetime being used on another iPad

Hi guys, I received a message on my iPhone stating that 'your apple id is now being used for facetime on a new iPad'. But I've not been using facetime on any device. I carried out all the security processes (changed password, checked email addresses etc). But what I want to know is, how is it possible for someone to hack in to my account if I have 2 factor authentication enabled?

What device are you currently using FaceTime on? Have you updated or restored your device recently requiring you to sign back in to FaceTime with your Apple ID? My initial thought is that you aren’t hacked but rather receiving that email as Apple is recognizing your current device as “new.”

Hi mate, I don't actually use facetime. Last time I used it was a few months ago on my iPhone.

I haven't restored any of my devices or signed back in. I checked my iPad open apps and facetime wasn't even used.

It's all very worrying.

That message doesn't mean that you are using it at the moment, it means that it is enabled on the device, recognized as new device tide to your account.

Really? So why did it say it's being used on ANOTHER iPad rather than say something like 'it's enabled on THIS' iPad?

Because that’s what it has always said. The poster is correct. Technically, It’s not incorrect. FaceTime can now be used on that device. So it just sums it up to now being used.

Because the message appeared on your iPhone. Not on your iPad.
