Just an idea, but what are peoples opinion about an iOS feature that would disable pin locking in certain geo locations, i.e. at home or work (or any location you stipulate) so when out and about need pin to access phone but when in 'safe' locations no pin required, i seem to be constantly entering my pin when simply sat at home or when at work every time i need to do even the most simple task need to reenter my pin.
I know i probably sound lazy but isn't Apple all about simplicity.
I'd like peoples ideas and thoughts on this, surely with how geotagging is working, such as siri being able to remind you when you leave location surely its not too far to stretch to enable, or more so disable, pin security as option.

It's a great idea but probably years away considering how much battery power GPS currently uses. It'd need to be active all the time or nearly all the time for this whereas GPS reminders are probably only used occasionally by most people.

this is true. what about if it was a manual feature to say when i leave 'this' location enable security features. i'm only throwing ideas out there... so uses location services once activated then once leave said location it'll activate security then stop tracking location. would that be a plausible work round? altho a power drain, surely if you're in a 'safe' location where you don't need to security, e.g. home, you'll probably also have charging facilities. like i said, thinking aloud here. could be crazy idea with currently technology... but one day... one can hope.

It is a good idea, perhaps could be done with when connected to home wi-fi network rather than using GPS.

Not true. You can set location-aware reminders that pop up when you get home and they don't kill the battery. A system like the OP is describing could use the exact same location data that the 'Reminders' app is using.

'Location aware' does not mean that the GPS is being used all the time. Just knowing which cell-towers the phone is communicating with is usually enough for something like this.

GPS is a battery killer but it's not the only method of determining location. I use GV Places. I'm not sure what it uses for determining location but it has minimal battery impact yet seems accurate (though it really doesn't need GPS accuracy) and timely enough.

I didn't realise Reminders didn't always use full GPS.
