I have a 2016 MacBook Pro 13" with Touch Bar. I have this machine set to require a password IMMEDIATELY after I make it go to sleep (using the Sleep menu item under the File menu). I then close the lid.
After 5 minutes or after 5 hours, if I then open the lid, the laptop will open up and let me continue working WITHOUT me having to either enter password out authenticate myself with TouchID. This happens about 40% of the time. If I keep working on the laptop in this state, I will quickly start getting between 5 and 8 Keychain access error dialogues from various services that tell me that I need to enter my password to continue using the service (things like iCloud and Addressbook sync services). This indicates to me that the machine was clearly not unlocked properly, but yet I can still use the machine and access all of its data... all without having entered a password. A reboot resolves this and the error message go away.
What I have also noticed is that when my laptop is sitting there with the lid closed and supposedly asleep, I sometimes hear the new mail sound, indicating to me that the laptop is in fact not asleep.
Are there any other 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar users out there that have experienced a similar situation? Thanks for any input.
