Hi everyone

I just installed the new security update on my 1 year old iBook and then restarted as directed. It is sitting on a blue screen and has been for 10 minutes.

What do I do now??? Sorry I don't have a lot of experience with Macs.

Cheers

1) give it a restart
2) do a fsck in single user mode (google for instructions)
3) archive and install os x (preserve users and apps) just not that update.

if it works at any stage stop and use it as you would

WAIT. NO.

Just try restarting; reinstalling the OS is the LAST thing you do. This is not Windows.

Hi lilstewart

Pheww, I did a search on the problem on Google and learned about a safe mode.

Got in, repaired permissions and then restarted. Works fine now!!

Cheers
