Security variability with Siri

From the lock screen, hold home for Siri. Say Google (anything).

Safari comes up. Tap home.

Now you are on the main screen past the lock screen.

This should not be right?

Mine says it can't search the web while my phone is locked, that I need to unlock it first. Then it brings up the keypad. Do you have a pass code set on yours? I doubt it.

Yeah it was set but never mind...It had the lock but did not require passcode at that point. It was set longer than I though.
