Hope someone can help. Just got an iphone 3gs like 2 weeks ago. First iphone and no issues so far. i noticed this morning that if i hit the home button when the phone is sleeping it is not responsive on the first try. i have to hit it 2 or 3 times and when the home screen pops up (the one where it says slide to unlock) there is a play button with what looks like a volume bar. i can hit the play button but nothign happens. i can also adjust the voluem slider but i don't know what that does. has this happened to anyone else?

thanks in advance for any help.

The unresponsive home button might be a hardware issue. Maybe take it into the Apple store to get looked at?

As for the play button + volume bar, that's just a feature of the iPhone.

Go to:

Settings --> General --> Home Button

From there, you can set it up. Double clicking the Home Button will pop up Home, Phone Favorites, or the iPod, depending on how you set it up.
