This seemed like a job for a shortcut, so here’s one I’ve just created. You may need to edit the region used in the search action as it’s currently set to the UK. I’m sure this could be improved upon as I’m a shortcuts novice, but it works.

Once you add the shortcut, find an app you want a price for and share it. From the share sheet, tap “Shortcuts”, then the “Show Price” shortcut.
No problem at all!Just checked and it works like a charm. I didn't even have to modify as shortcuts took care of it. Thanks much. This will certainly suffice till Apple fixes it, if ever.

You can consider saving them in an app like lookmark which will allow you to still view the price after purchase.
It’s very powerful indeed......it can even be used to make REST requests. It never occurred to me to use Shortcuts. I've played with Automator on my Mac but never did much serious with it. It looks like Shortcuts is as powerful on iOS. I'm going to have to explore more. TA

I tend to fire it up when I have a specific need, but I really should try and put some time into learning it inside and out.
