Just wanna ask, how often do you see anyone using a Lumia 900/920 or any Nokia period? Just from my everyday casual observation, I haven't really seen too many people using a Nokia or even speaking of getting one. It almost seems Nokia doesn't exist here in North America. I'm in Canada, but travel to the US quite often. You just don't hear about Nokia anymore. I haven't even seen a single Nokia commercial. In fact I have seen more people using a Note 2 than I have seen using a Nokia 900/920. But North America hasn't really been Nokia's strongest market in the last 3 years or so. If Windows Phone doesn't grab considerable market share this year, I'm guessing Nokia start making a few Android handsets along their Windows Phones.

I don't really pay attention to peoples phones if they're dumb phones but I don't think I've ever seen anyone using a Lumia 820/920 yet in Ireland. I've been seeing a lot of GS3's!
I have no idea what's happened to Nokia. And I really don't think it's all because of the Windows Phone OS. What WP8 handset is out there right now that looks as good as the SGS3 and iPhone. Because these are the 2 handsets are exactly what the 920 is going after. Regardless of who you are, there is no denying Nokia have to steal the attention and customers away from these two handsets. And when you put this big chunky and heavy (by comparison) 920 next to these 2 big dogs, it comes off as being inferior. I'm not talking performance, I'm talking device in hand eyes on experience. And that's how the average smartphone user shops. The average smartphone user is not a tech geek. All the phones run equally smooth and lag free to them when using it at the store. They're not looking for lag or the slightest bit of hesitation, or widgets, or toggles or Pureview. To them all cameras work good enough on the high end devices. This is the average user. They're looking at the brand name (Apple) or that big vivid screen that just pops (GS3). When they look at the 920 what are they looking at? A big heavy chunky phone (again, in comparison). Maybe all this changes with the Ativ S.

Totally agree. And with the teens to early twenties demographic, especially in North America, they don't even know about Nokia as a brand like they know Samsung, HTC, and Apple. So they're definitely not gonna get that attention by bring out handset that are so thick and heavy compared to the competition.
I am a Mac user, havent touched Windows since XP but most all my friends have Windows. They all hate the Windows 8 launcher thing, metro or whatever its called. Most user reviews I have seen on it are not good either. I guess if yoh dont like that look and layout, you probably don't want it on your phone
I've only seen one other windows phone outside a retail store and no WP8 devices. I agree that nokia/Microsoft have an uphill climb, but it's too early to write off windows phone yet, especially since WP8 was just released and actual sales figures haven't been released.
I haven't seen much of either phone at this point. I wonder why Nokia won't produce android phones?
See people with a Note around every couple of days. See people with the GS3 everyday. Rarely see the WP in the wild. When I do, it's usually a female. Not the it matters, that's just what I've noticed. And of course the iPhone is what I see the most. Although I don't see most with the 5.
I don't know what Nokia would gain by making android phones. They might sell more right out of the gate than they are with WP, but Samsung is the only manufacturer doing really well with android. Supposedly WP is selling at a rate of four times what it was this time last year, so if Nokia can stick with it they will probably be doing fine in the long run.

It's probably true, though... most in my age demographic probably had one of these at one point: 
The biggest problem in the US is lack of availability. AT&T isn't a small carrier, but it's the only one with the 920. Verizon (absolutely massive) has a mutant version of the 820, and that's it. If you want people jumping on your flagship phone you have to make it available... and Nokia hasn't done that.
If an unlocked 920/922 was available on VZW, I'd jump all over it. I'm not willing to leave my carrier to get it though.

1. About 10-15 people with iPhone 4/4S (Hard to differentiate them to count them seperate)
2. About 5-10 people with Blackberry (Hard to differentiate them to count them seperate)
3. 2 people with iPhone 5
4. 1 person with S3
5. 1 person with Note 2 (Me)
6. 1 person with 920

Nokia's brand recognition is essentially zero now. Apple and Samsung have essentially make Nokia irrelevant in the US market.
It's funny because I take public transportation to work here in Boston and EVERYONE has either a Galaxy of some sort (S2, S3, Note, etc) or an iPhone.

I love the 920. I used it for a couple weeks and enjoyed it a lot. It has a couple shortcomings that unfortunately were deal breakers for me but I'm keeping a close eye on the windows App Store. If the apps I need show up I will go back in a heartbeat.
As far as being out in public- I see hundreds of people a day at work. I haven't noticed any nokias. A lot of samsungs. But more iPhones than anything still.
