Switched to Mac recently. Lovely.
Want to consign my XP machine to history, but have it on the network for old files and maybe even storage
Have installed Bonjour for Windows, and can see my Mac drive on the PC, but can't get into my PC from the Mac
In Finder, I can see something with a typically ugly name "OWNER-R6E..." etc. but when I try to connect, it asks for ""SMB/CIFS file system authentication", with a workgroup and name I'm not aware of setting up on the PC (or Mac for that matter)
Is this a case of finding out password/domain info from the PC? In which case, help!
Or is it some windows firewall thing, or am I deluded in that my ambitions are not doable?
