Is it possible to have a widget or two open (on one side of the screen), while working in Word or other programs? I'm able to bring the widgets up but when I work, they have to disappear.

Log out or Force Quit the Dock process via Activity Monitor 5. Activate Dashboard via the F4 key 6. Grab the widget you want to have on your Desktop and drag it around 7. Keep the primary mouse button pressed 8. Deactivate Dashboard via the F4 key 9. Voilà 10. To get the widget back into Dashboard, grab the widget and move it around and activate Dashboard.

Click to expand... Terminal, an application located in the Macintosh HD / Applications / Utilities folder, found via Spotlight (Command+Space). Activity Monitor, see Terminal.
