I am a student and amatuer photographer, but I am seeking help for a logo that will be on most of my pictures. I intend to have a black border and on the bottom right: Caleb Reich Photography or CalebReich Photography (something like that). Must be one line! I need something that stands out, looks cool and professional, but decently plain and simple - that won't take away from the photo.

Any advice or logos I am allowed to use are appreciated!

Thanks,
Caleb

Hmm. Reich. I can think of all sorts of inappropriate icons you could use, but you probably want to stay away from those. Why not start simple with just the initials ("CRP") and see where it goes.

This is a tough one. "Reich" still has bad implications from that whole fiasco that happened back in the 30's and 40's. CRP just looks like the word "crap" missing the A. You got dealt a not so easy hand, my friend. I'll think about it and post any ideas I have.

It's not as if he's simply putting Reich on the photos, he's putting his first name in front of it, therefore people should see it and recognize it as a name. If it wasn't a often used first name in front of it, it would be a different story, but it's not. So, I don't see that being an issue at all, which means you can now worry about the actual design.

How wide is the border going to be? If it's not going to be too large at all, I would then rule out any type of traditional logo and just focus on typography.

Someone will post something inappropriate... I can think of 3 things...

CR Photography I would say be your safest bet, something simple and styles from a nice font would look profession and I think give the message you want.

Well, I did think about that, it is a tough one, that is why I'm seeking help. Maybe I just have to stick with Caleb Reich Photography. That's the easiest, that way if I ever do have a website, people can google caleb reich photography, and my website will come up rather than something like CR photography.

Thank's for all the help! It was greatly appreciated!

Just a very quick take on it. A rather condensed font because it's a long name that would take very much space if written in a regular font, blue and a little rounded to make it soft & friendly to get away from the "Reich thing" mentioned above.

Or maybe just something simple and shiny to sit on your black border?

(quick mock up idea):
