Hey everyone.

The other day my house mate told me that there was some sort of power cut or surge he wasn't quite sure, I didn't think much of it due to everything in the house was working fine until I came to use my iMac 17in, 2.0GHz,Intel Core 2 Duo model. It wouldn't switch on at 1st I thought maybe the fuse has blown in the plug so I replaced the 10 amp fuse with a new one but I was still having no luck.

After I tried replacing the fuse with no luck I then checked the extension plug the imac was plugged into. Everything else that was plugged into the extension plug was working fine the extension plug dose not have surge protection. I have tried every i can think of and after calling my local apple store they have advised to bring my imac into them so they can have a look at it but i would rather try and resolve to problem at home 1st before i have to start paying out for repairs.

Anyone have any ideas i could try?????

I tried doing the SMC reset but no luck it looks like i'm going to have to take it to the Apple shop :( .

Thanks anyway

There is a fuse in the Plug?
I thought there was a fuse on the power supply.
How did you replace the fuse in the plug?
I am having a similar problem. I replaced the PSU but no luck!
