I saw many people asking on other websites why they have cleared all thier photos and videos but the iPhone still keeps telling them "iPhone storage full"... Since iOS 8, the pics and videos you deleted are not actually gone. If you want to make them disappeared forever you need to go to the "Recently deleted" album and delete them again... Otherwise you need to wait for 30 days they will be deleted automatically:)

Actually, it appears that my daughters iPhone is showing that it has 48GB of Documents and Data on iTunes but no where near that on the iPhone it self. Any ideas what might have caused this?

"Documents & Data: Safari Offline Reading List, files created within apps, and app content like contacts, calendars, messages, and emails (and their attachments)" ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201656 )

Does this help on any ideas on what that data could be?

There's more to it than that.
Yes that's more than that. Except the "Recently deleted" pics, there are cache files, temporary files and downloaded files occupying the iPhone storage space. Want to clear then you can back up your data and erase your iPhone, then do a restore from the backup.:p

Yesterday my little sister told me that she noticed her iBooks app was taking up over 13GB of her iPhone 6 Plus' storage, so she deleted all eBooks and they barely even amounted to 1GB.Looked again today and iBooks has swollen to 20GB.What is going on with her phone? I plug her iPhone into iTunes and it says the phone have 64GB of Other data that wasn't there before. What's wrong with it?

my family members always think their iPhones are full when it is actually just the stupid 5 GB iCloud storage not being able to backup the device. No point in trying to explain it to them lol

oh and my aunt had like 15GB of iMessage attachments, it literally made her iPhone crash when ahe tried to swipe delete a conversation at this point. there should be a delete all button for iMessage attachements

True! My aunt always complained with me that her iPhone storage was full all the time even she deleted all her messages and pics and videos! And I asked her to send me a screenshot of the popup and found it was not about the iPhone storage!:eek::eek:

I have some books but they only take about 200MB... So I don't know what happened to your sister's iPhone...

This is the biggest problem for me. I get tons of pictures sent to me and they get saved in my phone. They take up ALOT of space.

I had a case once where someone had deleted photos and showed that the iPhone was full. It made no sense. There was very little on the phone! Recently deleted was cleared!

Oddly enough, i had to change the time back to 2010 (this was October of 2015) and suddenly about 3,000 recently deleted images popped up!

I had this issue. Phone said I have 3,000 images. All were deleted and none were in recently deleted. I try fixes I found online such as change the time to a date in the past and nothing worked. Had to factory reset.

Does your sister's iPhone runs latest iOS system? Does she have audio books? Maybe her audiobooks were moved from Music to iBooks. I guess.

48GB! That's a huge number! Mine got 5.4GB on "other" storage. I found this iPhone Cleaner to clear temp files and surprisingly found 2.36GB temp files on my iPhone!

I'm very suspicious about that app. It is telling me I have 2.56GB of Temp files on my device, and I just restored it less than 20 hours ago. My 'Other' and 'Documents & Data' don't even equal 1.5GB.

I use PhoneClean and Battery Doctor on a regular basis to clear out App caches. But for it to be telling me that I have 2.56GB of space that can be freed - I call BS. Probably just trying to get me to spend the $20 on the app for it to turn around and tell me I have 0GB of temp files.

Also, it doesn't tell me where the temp files are coming from. At least PhoneClean tells me where the system caches/photo caches are coming from before I delete it. It also gives me an option to de-select some caches that I don't want to be deleted.

You mean that your deleted images come back? I want to know whether your iPhone has turned off photo stream.
