I recently bought an IPP 10.5 for notes taking but after using it for several days I noticed that the color temperature shifted from top to bottom.Got it changed for THREE times, manufactured dates varied from September 2017 to March 2018,locality of shipment from Beijing to Xiamen and problem remains.I think I'mma keep the last one as the problem is the mildest, though it got some light leakage problem on the edge.I guess Apple's well-known precise quality control has long gone anyway.

I have something like you've circled in that last picture on my 12.9, and is driving me crazy. I swear it just appeared. I've had my iPad since November. I actually have a genius bar appointment for it this week, but I feel a little ridiculous because it is so minor.

It happens.I discovered that when I was in search of the uneven brightness problem. As a matter of fact I've seen a lot of problems like this on different devices like iPhone 6s,Xiao Mi 5s,Huawei Honor V9 and so on.But surprisingly one of my friends' iPad 2017 looks perfect on the screen.I think it's because iPad has larger screen and laminated screen demands higher production technics.Anyway if you can't see the leakage from the front,I think it's acceptable.

It looks good! I'm not overall super picky...like I don't even see the uneveness in the pics above. But the kind of glaring extra bright area was too much.

This. I don't even see the unevenness or whatever the problem is with the screen. And this is with my face right up to my screen.

Thank god I'm not that picky, as someone like that will never be satisfied.

To be honest, this is why I’m not a fan of laminated. The regular retina to me is perfect. I’ve never seen or heard of any anomalies with it.

Hey, that kinda sounds like my problem. I got a bright circle toward the bottom middle and can see it when scrolling in web pages or when I have something totally white when drawing with the Apple Pencil. It’s actaully pretty annoying. (What’s in the OP I wouldn’t even notice tbh :p)

So if I call up Apple (don’t got a store near me), they’ll replace it fine? Didn’t know if it was a worthy cause for them or not.

I went in person and they saw the problem.

You should see mine.. popped out picture in middle, like old CRT-s, on new device . Replaced that grey one with silver cause thinked it would be better cause of some differences in production. Same thing with silver, just not right out of box but few days later and i even didnt use it, was just turned on. Still using my old good super HQ ipad 3. Still like the picture of IP3, this 10.5 is just zoomed in 9.7 with all sorts of problem.. You get larger screen but same available space ... This thing is nowhere near "premium" or even "PRO" product, build quality is like someone assembled it in local garage, DIY.. Every IP PRO is different but they all got problems... and if you want good one, you need to search for needle in haystack, ofc if good one exist..

Yes, this is noticeable on large screen TVs with scrolling content such as sports. Referred to as 'Dirty Screen Effect' as some areas are slightly darker than others as if there was dirt on the screen. A known concession with edge/back lit screens such as LCDs.

Hmm you're right. Seen this on LCD TVs before. Besides this my iPad runs perfect. The new 2018 Pro is a beast. So it doesn't make sense to return the IPad and get another one?

There’s a lot of hate for the IPP 10.5 on MacRumors it seems. First you have people saying a bright spot is ‘inevitable’, now there’s someone saying uneven brightness is ‘inevitable’, makes me wonder if I should’ve just ponied up more money for this year’s Pros instead despite their own separate problems.

Yeah I don’t know what to tell you. My 10.5 iPad Pro is my favorite machine but I’ve only had it a few months. In the white spots thread it seems the spot doesn’t show up until 14 months or so.

Same here, I just drew on it for the first time and it was so amazing, I’d hate for my first Pro to be plagued by such a silly issue. Well I have AppleCare and if it happens once I’ll replace, if it happens twice I’ll replace and sell for a newer Pro. I could always return this one until January for either an older 9.7 Pro refurb from Apple or pony up more for a 2018 Pro but I really don’t want to do that.
