In IOS 12 we are able to select multiple media within a contact in messages by pressing the info icon and then long pressing on the media to select more than one at a time to save.

In IOS 13, a long press only brings a context menu with no ability to select multiple images.

This is such a backward step. Has anyone been able to solve this? iPhone XR so no 3D Touch.

it's easily possible to select multiple images. Long press on a photo (or any message - 3D touch isn't working here for some reason) and select "More...". Then you can select as many messages/photos as you like!

However, you can't actually save anything, so it's still useless :)

Thats of no use. You have to scroll through the whole history to look for photos in between text messages cuz you cannot filter

edit: it’s even worse, clicking the delete button doesn’t actually do anything. The photos stay in my messages app

There is no „more“ if I long press on a photo. There‘s only Save/copy/share/delete on iPadOS. ARGHH!

I was thinking people were clicking on photos or messages in the conversation list, which is where "more" appears. If you click on a photo (or other media) after clicking the contact photo and (i) then no such option appears.

Yea, the title was a bit misleading, but now I checked this and the current state is really a big step backwards for no apparent reason. It‘s like it was just forgotten... There are number of little choices in iOS 13 that are really annoying.
Like have you tried to open an app in slideover that already has multiple instances opened? Then you get this little chosing dialogue where you can chose wich instance to open. But why cant you CLOSE any of the instances in that dialogue? It just makes no sense since it looks and feels like the exposé view or the general app switcher where you can close them...

This has been one of the bigger negative things for me when it comes to iOS 13 (along with the Mail app not really working well) -- seems like fairly established things that have been around for some time that suddenly were changed for no good reason and made worse on top of it all.
