I'm just curious which burner number apps are fully self contained. These recommendations may be for iOS or Android.
I was reading through the FAQ of Burner. It seems it forwards call through your regular dialer app. With calls showing up on your cell phone plan as from the Burner number. I don't want something where forwarding will happen. Unless I want it to.
Rather I'm looking for something which works as a self contained VOIP app. Where calls are received and made from the app itself. Same goes with SMS messages. As I may want to use this with a phone with no plan or sim card. So, it'll be WiFi only.
My use for this is Craigslist or similar local sales apps like Offerup. I don't want to give out my number and have it spammed like crazy. Just to use as a number for selling a bunch of old junk. Then getting rid of the number.
