I'm in the advanced computer art class at my school, and we were assigned a self image project, so here's mine...

I thought you guys would want to see it.

NOTE: The brown in the hair is much more visible on my monitor at home than the ones I worked on at school, so I did not originally intend for it to be so visible.

What program did you use to make it? Did you use a mouse or Wacom tablet? :)

Photoshop 7.0
Painter IX

and yes, used a Wacom Intuos 2 6x8 tablet.

I'm really pissed about how much the brown stands out here.

Doesn't look bad to me, then again I didn't see the version on your school monitor to compare the two (and it's also a personal preference). It's really hard to get graphics on the web to look the same on every monitor since they all have a variety of color settings and what not. :)

I ca hardly see the brown on my setup. Its more than likely down to the differences in config of the screen at school and home, dont worry about it, if it has to be printed out and it comes out too bright then you worry about it :D

We set a similar project with our students except the portrait was to be not of them selves but of the things that made them who they are as an individual. Such as likes and dislikes, fav music, films, TV shows, the clothes they ware, the food they eat and so on.

I like your image it works well with some interesting textures. Nice! :)
