Do the kindly thing and just give it to me. Clearly you can afford a new iPad 3 and I am BROKE.

Ebay or Craigslist. Ebay is usually safer but no fees listing it on Craigs. I sell a lot of stuff on Craigslist, never had any issues. Just be sure not to list your actual address in the post, say "cash only, no trades", and you'll probably get bogus emails saying things like "Is the item still available?" When you reply to these (sometimes they're legit, most of the time they're not), you'll get a long response in bad English about them paying extra, you sending it somewhere, etc etc. Ignore these. If you get contacted by a potential buyer, have them call you. You can always meet at a public spot like at a Starbucks or even just in the parking log of a shopping center if you don't feel comfortable with them coming to your home.

Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon.com -- all viable options depending on your preferences.

You can be stupid and get scammed on any of them. I tend to prefer CL, the lowballers and scam attempts don't bother me, all I need is the one person willing to do the deal.

For CL, use Google voice and never meet at your home or theirs; that's just begging for problems. Same thing for parking lots or something like a mall food court. Far too easy to get hit with a snatch&grab. Bad idea.

At least meeting INSIDE a Starbucks, during daylight and away from the door, there are more people around and you can much more easily see if someone's hanging around the parking lot to potentially roll you after the sale. Ideally get there well ahead of when you're meeting the person so they do not know what you drove (lessens risk of an ambush) and also allows you to choose a spot away from the door and with good visibility.

Another idea is to meet in the lobby of a police station; any buyer unwilling to meet you there is probably not someone you want to meet... :)

I sell things all the time on Craigslist. I have never had a problem except for the usual Lowballers. I never meet at the buyers house and I never have them come to my house. I have been on Craigslist for about 5 years now. I just simply tell them to meet me at the local mall or at my local grocery store 2 blocks away from my house. I think that way is perfectly safe.

You will get the most exposure on eBay less on Craigs List. If not a eBay member, do Craigs list and see what happens. CL is FREE in my town:rolleyes:

I sold my 64GB 3G last week for $680 shipped. Not bad, as the prices this week have dropped to $530 or so on ebay. Doubt they will go past $500, but I'd get it on as soon as I could, especially if Apple keeps the iPad 2 viable with a lower price point.

I'll be buying an iPad 3 online this time the day they come out. I haven't heard whether Apple has changed their selling routine, and the scalper thing is just too aggravating to deal with. I'm hoping that they go to a no cash, online order system only, and you pick up when you are notified.

I was planning on selling mine but then the wife decided that she wanted it so now i'm selling her Kindle Fire on Ebay and giving her the Ipad 2. Last year gave my daughter the Ipad 1 and upgraded to Ipad 2. This year guess its the wifes turn. But i'm ok with that everyone in my family enjoys the Ipad all the way down to my 3 yr old.
