I have the collectors edition 13" MB wih 2.0GHZ 4GB RAM and 500GB HD + 16GB ipad.

I like ipad for sofa and bed surfing streaming TV.

Should I sell these and get an 11" MB 64GB and AEBS with my 1GB USB HDD?

Is watching TV over wifi a lot slower than on internal HDD.

Mainly use email, itunes, ilife and VLC, transmission. Will this be lot slower on

Is itunes/iphoto a pain wirelessly if only have 55GB SSD?

Any thoughts?

What will you do with all of the iPad apps? Assuming you've purchased some. If you take apps out of the equation, I'd definitely get a Macbook air over an iPad. It's the full Mac OS X...Enough said.

1. You'll notice a speed increase on the MBA since it has an SSD. This makes a huge difference in how snappy and fast everything works with day to day stuff. For what you'll be doing with it, both 1.4GHz and 1.6GHz are fast enough. Make sure to upgrade to 4GB of RAM though, this can't be done later on, and even if you don't need it at this point, you will in the future. It also adds to the resale value.

2. The iPad gives you a whole difference experience and offers you a many other things than a notebook ever could. It's up to you to decide whether you'll be missing these things or not.

3. Your AEBS and the MBA support 802.11n which comes down to a pretty fast wireless network. You can easily stream videos, photos, music from an HD connected to the AEBS. And you can already test it at this point with your current machine.

4. Storing video and music on an SSD is pointless in terms of speed, so if you don't need to carry your full music/video library with you all the time, you might as well use an external drive.

Not too worried about the ipad apps.

Will I miss the touch screen?

Will the MBA be a lot slower than UMB 2.0?
