I have a 16" MacBook Pro, 2.3Ghz i9, 32gb ram, 5500M with 8gb VRAM I'm trying to sell, along with my Mac mini and iPad Air. I just don't need several devices and think I would get by just fine with a single M2 MacBook Air or M1 pro MacBook Pro. I have tried posting on swappa and Facebook marketplace but am only getting the attention of scammers and traders. I'm thinking of trying a site like macmeanoffer or cashforyourmac but I'm worried about being scammed, or they make an offer but then invent a scratch or something after shipping and then send me less than the quote. I'm not seeing anything recent on here about them being legit or not. What are you opinions on sites like these that buy your Mac off you, refurb and then resell them?

Dunno about FB Marketplace. But Swappa is actually pretty good. They have someone human who checks the photos, makes sure any small scratches/dents are documented, so it's unlikely you'll get scammed (as long as you have a trackable delivery option).

In the end, I didn't sell on Swappa because I moved back to the UK, so sold my 2019 MBP 16 (i7 not i9) eventually on eBay. Transaction went OK, but not thrilled with the huge bite in fees eBay take out of the sale. Especially as the value of those intel 16" MBPs dropped so suddenly almost overnight when the M1s were released.

Good luck!

I got a pretty good offer on my i9 Mbp (exact spec as yours) from gadget gone. Still going through the process so can’t recommend it yet!
